My Information and Background
MY PHILOSPHY:
To me, individual therapy is a journey for each person who chooses to engage in treatment. These patients come to me looking for help to overcome past and present barriers to their happiness that limit their ability to reach their highest potentials in life. I see my role as that of a guide. I have the education and experience needed to help provide insight, skills, and growth in a uniquely tailored program designed to help my patients reach their goals and move forward towards a brighter future.
MY STYLE:
“I am not a coffee with friends - type therapist”
My patients come to therapy because their life has become uncomfortable or unmanageable and they want it to stop. They come to me to help them make that happen and to do so as soon as is possible. I take this trust seriously and it has helped to shape my approach to therapeutic change.
My style has developed throughout my career but it has been shaped by my personality as well. I tend to be very direct and will provide you with support and challenges that will help move you in the right direction as quickly as is therapeutically possible in a warm and comfortable atmosphere. While the subjects I handle are serious I am able to create a strong therapeutic relationship with my patients that is built on my warmth, humor and directness that has proven to be very effective when paired with my education, creativity, and experience. I believe that the the journey towards your future begins with you!
